He underscored the importance and emphasised the focus and drive of the revolutionary government of Zanzibar, particularly in pushing the agenda of the blue economy.

“The outcome of this meeting will also form a huge substantive part of the discussions during the AGRF in Rwanda,” he said.

At the same time, he encourages all the members, stakeholders, participants of the ministry and the agriculture-led ministries to make an annual summit. “The subsequent annual events will engage prospective local and international investors and stakeholders involved in agriculture or agribusiness.

The Ministry of Investment Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture with close engagement with other Agriculture Sector Leading Ministries (ASLM’s),, including the Livestock and Fisheries sectors, prepared a dedicated summit named Tanzania Agribusiness Investment Summit (TAI Summit 2022) and themed “Grow, Nourish Reward- Bold Actions for Resilient Food Systems in Tanzania”.

The summit accorded participants a platform for exchanging ideas and opportunities to effectively learn and match investment opportunities mainly in four selected value chains,, namely, Sunflower (edible oil), Horticulture (fruits and vegetables), fisheries and Livestock (Dairy value chains).

The main objective of this summit was to bring together all critical State and Non- state stakeholders, including representatives of Government MDA’s, Development Partners, Agribusiness Investors (SMEs and Large investors), umbrella organisations, as well as other critical stakeholders in the sector as a means of unlocking potentials of connecting and match-making between investors in agribusiness sub-sector mainly through Deal rooms.
