49 Days to HortiLogistica Africa 2026: Arusha Prepares to Host East Africa’s Biggest Horticulture and Logistics Showcase

The countdown has begun. In 49 days, TGT Grounds in Ngaramtoni, Arusha, will open its gates to HortiLogistica Africa 2026, a five-day gathering that brings horticulture and logistics onto the same stage for the first time at this scale in the region. Organised in partnership with the Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA), the event runs from 7 to 11 November 2026, and the programme released this week gives the clearest picture yet of what exhibitors, farmers, and visitors can expect.

A Week Built in Layers

The event opens gently before it opens officially. On 7 November, the HortiFun Run kicks things off between 6am and 10am, a health, wellness and networking activity designed to get participants, delegates and the surrounding Ngaramtoni community moving together before the trade floor takes over. That evening, a high-level welcome cocktail at the Kibo Palace Hotel (6pm to 9pm) brings the formal networking into view.

Exhibitions then run for three consecutive days at TGT Grounds — 8, 9 and 10 November, each from 8am to 5pm — with 9 November marked as the official launch day for HortiLogistica Africa. The final day, 11 November, shifts the focus outward: field excursions and tourism experiences take participants beyond the exhibition halls and into the horticulture value chain itself.

Where the Programme Adds Value: The Field Excursions

The four field visits scheduled for 11 November are where HortiLogistica Africa distinguishes itself from a conventional trade show. Participants can choose from:

  • Kibo Berries (Siha) — frozen berries and IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) processing
  • Africado (Siha) — an avocado farm and exporter operation
  • WorldVeg (Tengeru) — a vegetable genebank
  • Burka Coffee — a working coffee farm visit

Together, these stops span four of the crops driving Tanzania’s horticultural export ambitions — berries, avocado, vegetable genetic diversity, and coffee — giving international buyers and delegates a direct look at production standards rather than a purely exhibition-floor impression.

Beyond the Trade Floor

Running in parallel across the three exhibition days (8–10 November), a Health and Wellness track offers nutrition and wellness showcases alongside spa and massage experiences built around African essential oils, spices, and sustainably produced herbs — a reminder that horticulture’s reach extends into wellness value chains, not just fresh produce. A Future Lab and Innovation Hub runs the same three days, positioned to spotlight the technology and innovation side of the sector.

The Tourism and Heritage strand ties the event to Northern Tanzania’s biggest draws — Mount Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park — through pre- and post-event safari and cultural packages. An “African Vibe” segment adds regional cuisine, fresh-produce culinary arts, dance and music to the mix, aiming to give international delegates a cultural entry point into the same value chains they are there to do business in.

Why the Countdown Matters

With 49 days on the clock, HortiLogistica Africa 2026 sits at the intersection of two conversations Kilimokwanza has been tracking closely this year: Tanzania’s push to formalise export-grade horticulture value chains, and the logistics infrastructure needed to move perishable produce from farm gate to international market. An event that pairs exhibition space with genebank visits, cold-chain (IQF) facilities, and working export farms is, in effect, a working demonstration of what the “market-first” agricultural mindset looks like in practice.

Kilimokwanza will be following the build-up to Arusha and reporting the 7–11 November week. Exhibitors, farmers and cooperatives with a stake in the horticulture and logistics conversation have just over seven weeks to prepare.
