TPSF Announces New CEO Raphael Maganga
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – The Board of Directors of the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) has officially announced the appointment of Mr. Raphael Maganga as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective from 1st February 2024. This significant appointment marks a new chapter in TPSF’s journey towards bolstering the private sector’s role in Tanzania’s economic landscape.
Mr. Maganga succeeds Amb. John Ulanga, who was designated as an ambassador and Director of International Trade and Economic Diplomacy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East Africa Cooperation on 26th September 2023. Since then, Mr. Maganga has been effectively acting in the CEO role, showcasing his readiness and capability for this prestigious position.
A Glimpse into Mr. Maganga’s Illustrious Career
Raphael Maganga is no stranger to the nuances of private sector development, economic diplomacy, and investment and trade advisory. His journey with TPSF began in 2021 when he joined as a private sector advisor. Before this, he played a pivotal role as the country representative for the East African Business Council for Tanzania and Burundi, advocating for a conducive business environment across the East African Community.
His professional odyssey spans various domains and geographies, including significant stints in banking and advisory roles in countries like Australia, Kenya, and China.
Academic and Professional Credentials
Mr. Maganga’s academic background is as impressive as his professional trajectory. He is an alumnus of Monash University, Australia, where he earned a B.Com in Accounting and Finance. Further enriching his expertise, he holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Foreign Relations from the Centre of Foreign Relations and is a CAPSTONE 13 Alumni from the National Defence College.
Adding to this, he is an Associate Financial Planner/Investment Advisor, accredited by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI-UK).
