In a groundbreaking fusion of music and advocacy, the anthem CAADP – Africa Roaring for Agriculture (Official Video) has emerged as more than just a song—it’s a clarion call for transformative change in Africa’s agricultural sector. Released on February 10, 2025, this powerful track by smallholder farmers from ESAFF (Eastern and Southern Africa Small-Scale Farmers’ Forum) has already garnered over 59,699 views and continues to inspire listeners across the continent.

The Message Behind the Music

The song features dynamic performances by artists Stamina Shorwebwenzi Hobson, Enokey 89, Florence, and Remedy, highlighting the urgent need to honor commitments made under the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP). Specifically, it emphasizes the goals outlined in the Kampala Declaration 2026–2035, which aims to revolutionize agri-food systems through six strategic objectives:

  1. Intensify sustainable food production, agro-industrialization, and trade.
By leveraging technology and innovation, African nations can boost productivity while preserving natural resources.
  2. Boost investment and financing to accelerate agri-food systems transformation.
Governments and private sectors must prioritize funding for smallholder farmers who form the backbone of the continent’s agriculture.
  3. Ensure food and nutrition security for all.
Addressing hunger and malnutrition is crucial for building healthier communities.
  4. Advance inclusivity and equitable livelihoods across communities.
Women, youth, and marginalized groups should be empowered to participate fully in agricultural development.
  5. Build resilient agri-food systems capable of withstanding climate challenges.
Climate-smart practices are essential for safeguarding farming against environmental threats.
  6. Strengthen governance within agri-food systems to ensure accountability and effectiveness.
Transparent policies will foster trust and cooperation among stakeholders.

The song’s vibrant rhythm and heartfelt lyrics encapsulates these ideals, urging everyone—from policymakers to grassroots activists—to take decisive action.
