Youth in Chinangali Reap Rewards as BBT Program Enters Second Season

Dodoma, Tanzania – June 25, 2025 – Young participants in Tanzania’s “Building a Better Tomorrow” (BBT) program, operating at the Chinangali block farm in Chamwino District, Dodoma Region, have commenced harvesting a variety of crops in their second production season. This milestone signifies the growing success and impact of the BBT initiative in empowering the nation’s youth in agriculture.

In this second season, the dedicated young farmers have cultivated a diverse range of vegetable crops. These include Loleza chili peppers, Records sunflowers, Masia sorghum, Adzuki beans, Mydas cucumbers, and colorful Pasarena bell peppers. The varied harvest highlights the adaptability and potential for diverse crop production within the BBT framework.

The youth at Chinangali manage their agricultural endeavors through their cooperative society, Chinangali BBT AMCOS Limited, demonstrating a strong emphasis on collective action and sustainable business practices within the program. This cooperative model aims to foster self-reliance and enhance the economic viability of their farming activities.
