MazaoHub Celebrates Strategic Growth with AGCOT Centre: A Journey Guided by Vision and Wisdom

By Kilimokwanza.org

In the ever-evolving landscape of agricultural transformation in Tanzania, few partnerships exemplify purpose and passion quite like the one between MazaoHub Precision Agriculture and the AGCOT Centre — formerly known as the Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania (SAGCOT).

Geophrey Tenganamba, Co-Founder of MazaoHub, recently shared a heartfelt tribute to this partnership, describing AGCOT not just as a national initiative, but as “family.” His words offer a glimpse into the spirit of collaboration and mentorship that has powered one of Tanzania’s most promising agri-tech ventures.

“Working with AGCOT Centre has truly been one of the biggest blessings for us at MazaoHub,” said Tenganamba. “Under the incredible leadership of our mentor, teacher, and father figure, Mr. Geoffrey Kirenga, AGCOT has been our compass in building tech-powered agronomy and extension services.”

Guided by Wisdom, Driven by Innovation

MazaoHub’s relationship with AGCOT is deeply rooted in shared values — sustainability, farmer empowerment, and innovation. For Tenganamba, the guidance of Mr. Kirenga — CEO of AGCOT and a national icon in agricultural development — has been transformative.

“Anytime you meet Geoffrey Kirenga, carry your notebook,” Tenganamba recalls. “His words have shaped much of my thinking. He once told me, ‘Geophrey, reduce the hype, invest in sales, build long-term systems.’ I took those words to heart.”

This philosophy is evident in MazaoHub’s model, which blends digital precision farming tools with hands-on extension services, creating solutions that farmers are willing to invest in — because they work.

Expansion into New Growth Corridors

With the evolution from SAGCOT to AGCOT (Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania), the vision now includes four powerful agricultural growth corridors, expanding the reach of initiatives like MazaoHub:

  1. Central Corridor – Dodoma, Singida, Tabora, and Lake Zone
  2. Northern Corridor – Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Tanga
  3. Mtwara Corridor – Lindi, Mtwara, Ruvuma
  4. SAGCOT Corridor – Morogoro, Iringa, Njombe, Mbeya, Songwe, Rukwa, Katavi, Dar es Salaam, Coast Region

MazaoHub has positioned itself to scale its services in alignment with these corridors, helping thousands more farmers benefit from timely, data-driven agronomic advice.

A Tribute to Leadership

In his reflection, Tenganamba extended profound gratitude to Mr. Kirenga, calling him the “light, elder, and guide” of a new generation of agricultural leaders.

As AGCOT continues to implement the resolutions of the Dakar 2 Summit — working under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan and the guidance of the Presidential Food and Agriculture Delivery Council chaired by Hon. Mizengo Pinda — MazaoHub’s story is a shining example of the kind of impact that can be achieved when technology, mentorship, and national vision align.

“We’re building a MazaoHub that will stand the test of time — built on strong foundations,” Tenganamba affirms.
