🌾 A Movement to Transform Farming in Tanzania
In Iringa, Tanzania, Florence Nkini turns childhood disdain for farming into a source of pride and opportunity. Once a punishment for schoolchildren, farming is now a pathway to dignity and sustainability through the Children’s Farm Project. Over 700 kids have explored the joys of planting, harvesting, and caring for animals. Now, Florence is ready to take it further with a bold new step: building a chicken farm.
🐣 Why a Chicken Farm?
- Sustainable Income: Egg sales will fund the Children’s Farm, ensuring free visits for kids.
- Hands-On Learning: Children gain skills in animal care, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship.
- Future Farmers: Inspiring kids to see farming as a career, strengthening local food systems.
The first chicken house is 80% complete. With your help, it can be finished, stocked with 2,700 chicks, and ready to lay the foundation for a brighter future.
💚 Why It Matters
This isn’t just about eggs—it’s about empowerment. By supporting the chicken farm, you’re:
- Helping kids break the cycle of poverty through agriculture.
- Building a model for more Children’s Farms across Tanzania.
- Raising a generation of young farmers who stay in their communities.
