Centre for African Leaders in Agriculture Opens Application Process for Third Cohort
The Centre for African Leaders in Agriculture (CALA), an initiative of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), is now accepting applications for its third cohort of the Advanced Leadership Programme. The programme is a 16-month leadership development program designed to equip senior and rising leaders in Africa’s agriculture sector with the skills and knowledge they need to drive transformation in the sector.
CALA is looking for leaders committed to improving food security and nutrition in Africa. Applicants must work in government, the private sector, or civil society in one of AGRA’s focus countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, or Uganda. They must also have a demonstrated track record of leadership and impact in agriculture.
The Advanced Leadership Programme is a highly competitive program. CALA received over 2,000 applications for just 80 spots in the past two cohorts. The program is designed to be challenging and transformative, and CALA is looking for leaders who are up for the challenge.
The programme is delivered through a combination of virtual and in-person learning activities, including:
Action Learning Projects: Participants work on real-world challenges in the agriculture sector, guided by experienced mentors.
Virtual and in-person learning events: Participants attend workshops, seminars, and other events to learn from experts and network with other leaders.
Coaching: Participants receive one-on-one coaching from experienced leaders in the agriculture sector.
Peer learning and networking: Participants can learn from and network with other leaders in the agriculture sector.
The Advanced Leadership Programme is a unique opportunity for leaders in Africa’s agriculture sector to develop the skills and knowledge they need to drive transformation in the sector. If you are a leader committed to improving food security and nutrition in Africa, I encourage you to apply.
