TRACOM Fertilizer Plant to Be Launched in Dodoma, Boosting Agricultural Sector
DODOMA, Tanzania – June 27, 2025 – A new fertilizer plant, ITRACOM, is set to be officially launched tomorrow, June 28, 2025, in the Nala Industrial Area of Dodoma. The launch event will be graced by high-profile dignitaries, including the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, and the President of the Republic of Burundi, H.E. Major General (Rtd) Evariste Ndayishimiye.
The inauguration ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, will commence with the arrival of citizens and invited guests between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM, followed by the arrival of various leaders. The Presidents of Burundi and Tanzania are expected to arrive at 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM, respectively.
The agenda for the launch includes a brief explanation of the factory, the unveiling of the launch stone, tree planting, ribbon cutting, and a tour of the factory and product exhibition booths. These activities will be overseen by the Presidents and Mr. Ntigacika Adrien, the investor and owner of ITRACOM.
The formal program at the main podium will begin at 7:40 AM with the national anthems of Tanzania, Burundi, and the East African Community, performed by the Police Brass Band. Prayers will be offered by representatives from TEC, BAKWATA, and CCT.
Various officials will deliver remarks, including the Dodoma Regional Commissioner, Hon. Rosemary Sitaki Senyamule, who will give greetings from the citizens of Dodoma Region, followed by entertainment from Burundi. Mr. Gerald Mweli, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, will introduce leaders and invited guests. Mr. Nduwimana Nazaire, ITRACOM Executive Director, will provide a brief overview and presentation of the facility.
Further remarks will be given by Mr. Abdulmajid Mussa Nsekela, CEO of CRDB Bank, the bank that facilitated the factory, and retired Captain John Chiligati, Chairman of the Board. The Minister of Industry and Trade, Hon. Dr. Selemani Jafo (MP), and the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Hussein Bashe (MP), will also address the attendees.
The event will feature entertainment by renowned artist Mrisho Mpoto. The President of Burundi, H.E. Major General (Rtd) Evariste Ndayishimiye, will deliver his remarks, followed by the keynote address from the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
The ceremony will conclude with a group photo session and the departure of the dignitaries.
