Tri-Nations Livestock Expo Highlights Innovative Solutions
The Mbogo Ranch – Tri-Nations Livestock Expo, held on June 15, 2025, in Ubena Zomozi, showcased Tanzania’s largest livestock sale, uniting elite breeders from Tanzania, Namibia, and Kenya. Among the highlights was an insightful presentation by Salehe Ramadhani, Commercial Manager of Simu Solar.
Simu Solar’s Commitment to Farmers
Simu Solar specializes in the manufacturing and distribution of solar-powered irrigation equipment. Celebrating its 11th year, the company focuses on solar-powered pumps capable of irrigating between 1 to 10 hectares, depending on the environment. They cater to a diverse range of farmers, from those with a single hectare to livestock keepers facing water challenges.
Beyond pumps, Simu Solar offers the Agricultural Processing Machine and units with up to three horsepower. Their mission is to address key farmer challenges, particularly water access, by supporting irrigation farming with clean solar energy. Flexible payment options include lump-sum payments or installments ranging from three to 24 months, tailored to the farmer’s preference.
Extensive Support and Services
The company serves nine regions, including Iringa, Njombe, Mbeya, Morogoro, Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Musoma, Arusha, and Mureba. Before installation, Simu Solar visits farms to provide tailored advice and offers free installation included in the pump cost. A two-year warranty, covering both service and equipment, ensures farmer satisfaction.
Overcoming Financial Barriers
A major challenge remains the limited financial resources available to farmers for acquiring equipment. To bridge this gap, Simu Solar collaborates with financial institutions to provide accessible loan options, enabling farmers to invest in and enhance their agricultural productivity.
