Sky is the limit for TAHA’s cargo firm as it gets international connections
Dar es Salaam.
It started just as a simple horticulture cargo handling some nine years back but TAHAFresh is today celebrating being one of the reputable logistics service providers locally and internationally.
The subsidiary firm of business association Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) was established in 2008 to handle the horticultural cargo and now, it has become a one stop centre providing integrated logistics services covering airfreight and sea/ocean freight forwarding, trucking, customs clearing and forwarding as well as insurance.
The company’s local and international logistics experience with global standards and reliability has created good reputation to the firm as a trustworthy logistics company in Tanzania.
The company is an official member of the World Cargo Alliance (WCA) network – the world’s largest and most powerful network of independent freight forwarders, with 6,473 member offices in 789 cities and ports in 190 countries around the world.
With the joining of TAHA, the network now has about 8 local companies in Tanzania and Kenya, 15 .

“This is an opportunity for us to do business. We are now open to receive logistics businesses from customers all over the world and can take goods anywhere in the world. It is yet another milestone for us this year…the sky is the limit for TAHAFresh growth,” says TAHA chief executive officer Ms. Jacqueline Mkindi.
“We would like to thank our customers for continued support and we look forward to keep providing you with quality services,” she adds.
The advocacy work often supported by BEST-Dialogue and others partners, have built the capacity of the association to deliver information to members, which in turn has lead them to utilize better services offered by TAHAFresh.
The firm is in an International Air Transport Association (IATA) certified agent, a member of FIATA – a French acronym for International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations – and a member of Tanzania Freight Forwarders Association (TAFFA).
FIATA, a non-governmental organization, represents an industry covering approximately 40,000 forwarding and logistics firms, also known as the “Architects of Transport”.
On the sea freight services, TAHAFresh offers sea freight services including door to door, port to port, full container load (FCL), less than container load (LCL), refrigerated containers and other services which depend on the customer needs.
The company also offers road transportation services using its diverse fleet of trucks from dry goods to temperature controlled trucks as well as container carriers which navigate cargo by road throughout Eastern, Central and Southern Africa for both short and long haul transportation.
TAHAFresh offers clearing and forwarding services designed to take the complexity out of the customs process and ensure customers comply with customs and other regulatory requirements when moving across borders.
It uses the right product codes, tariffs and trade regulations based on customers’ product descriptions and its expertise, to avoid wrong clarifications to ensure the customers don’t pay more than necessary or pay too little and risk delays and fines.
“We are proud that through our services we are able to connect cargo from Tanzania with the rest of the word and bring the world cargo to Tanzania and the rest of Africa. Commitment and excellence is core in our business,” says Ms. Mkindi.
