In a strategic move to bolster economic resilience among the youth, Prof. Joyce Ndalichako, the Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, Labor, Youth, Employment, and People with Disabilities, has underscored the importance of a collaborative effort between her office and the Ministry of Agriculture. The objective is clear: to uplift the youth economically through the agricultural sector.

Speaking on January 22, 2024, during the welcoming ceremony of 268 beneficiaries of the ‘Building a Better Tomorrow’ (BBT) program at the Chinangali II communal farm in Chamwino District, Dodoma, Prof. Ndalichako elaborated on the government’s initiative. The program is designed to mitigate the employment crisis, allowing youth to thrive in agribusiness, thereby achieving self-employment, generating jobs for others, and enhancing the agricultural sector’s contribution to the national GDP.

In line, Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Hussein Bashe, highlighted the empowerment tools provided to the BBT youth, including essential agricultural equipment and farmlands. The beneficiaries are set to commence with sunflower farming in the Chinangali II area.

Adding to the discourse, the Regional Commissioner of Dodoma, Hon. Rosemary Senyamule, expressed that the BBT program is a significant stride towards bolstering food availability in the nation.
