President Samia Suluhu Hassan Inaugurates Mtibwa Sugar Factory Irrigation Dam, Strengthening Agricultural Self-Sufficiency
On August 3rd, during the Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibitions across the country, President Samia Suluhu Hassan officially inaugurated a new irrigation dam at the Mtibwa Sugar Factory in Morogoro. This significant project is a key component of Tanzania’s national strategy to bolster sugar production and drive economic growth through enhanced agricultural output.
By providing a reliable water source for sugarcane plantations, the dam aims to increase productivity and support the local economy, aligning with the broader goals of sustainable agricultural development under the Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania (SAGCOT) initiative.
